Im an embarressed and ashamed owner of a 2005 Suzuki M50, yes, I bought it only because the way it looks. I made a mistake, now im trying to get rid of it, nobody wants it, going to have to take a big loss on the trade in price. I bought the bike new, it ran great for the first 2 days, then it started to backfire, stall and blow black smoke from the exhaust, took it back to the dealer under warranty, he found a loose battery terminal, but that wasn't covered under warranty and he charged me $115. Took it back again, the dealer performed a tune up, replacing the spark plugs, that wasn't covered under warranty either, that was $80. Then my bike died along the road, towed it to the dealer, blown ign fuse, he covered the labor, but charged me for the fuse, but he never did find out what caused the fuse to blow, bike still misses, carrys on, backfires, the black smoke from the exhaust is embarressing. I kinda think there's a problem with the wiring, a short curcuit somewhere thats causing the ign curcuit to cut out. I can't keep spending money by taking it back to the dealer over and over again and he finds whatever it is thats not covered under warranty. No bike should need a tune up every 500 miles

Damn such a shame that this happened to you, I think that you should take it to another service with people that know what they are doing, sure it will cost you more but the series of bad "habits" this bike has will stop. And i think you are right, the ignition is the problem, maybe a new complete ignition system is what this bike needs.

Take it back to the dealer and tell them that you want a new one and be firm. Don't let these people jerk you around or you'll be stuck with a defective bike .

Gearz you are completely right, he should not let himself be bullied around by the dealers, they always want to get rid of defective bikes and instead of fixing or returning them they try to sell them

It's been awhile now, did the dealer do anything to the bike? I agree with the others this is one heck of a problem
