Sproing!!! Quote | Reply

I have an '84 Husky 250. I was innocently trying to remove the left side cover form the engine to replace a leaking waterpump seal, when SPROING..!!! the kickstart return spring let go. The technical documentation I have for this bike leaves something to be desired, to say the least. Can anyone enlighten me as to how to set it right again? I assume it needs some pre-load.....

Thanks,

Steve

Steve, let us know if you have found a solution. My guess is that you probably had to take it to the shop. Anyways I hope you are enjoying riding it by Wink

Good luck,

Dave

The best solution was already suggested, that is taking it to some specialist but ultimately if you decide to do it yourself check the manual carefully, there must be a reference there. Let us know how it worked out in the end Wink

The bets thing to do is ask other owners, these guys may know more than any other parts dealer or manual out there. Good luck with the repairs

Judging by the age of the bike i am surprised if he's going to find any owners near him but i agree to what you have said, an owner is most likely to know Wink

Age doesn't matter an old bike can have lots of fans Wink, so him finding another owner is the best solution
