Hello Guys! I am going to break the ice and talk about my last motorcycle, the powerful 99 K1200LTC.

I have to say I love this bike! I rode it this November from Oakland, CA to Lincoln, NE (around 1,700 miles) and got to know it very well :)

It is comfortable, safe and very reliabmwle. Although it is pretty heavy, weight is not an issue while moving. You have to be careful when stopping and parking, though.

It corners very well and has plenty of power. Mine had (I sold it on Ebay to a rider in Lincoln) extra PIAA Lights, which I recommend for night riding. The standard adjustable windshield is a must after you try it. Heated grips and crisp music sound are needed luxuries in long routes.

I did my last ride alone and it took me 2.5 days. Lots of snow and ice, and average temperature was 15F but the BMW kept me out of travel, well protected from bad weather and going fast whenever possible.

If you are thinking of getting one of these guys and have any questions let me know. I will gladly give you my input.

I am thinking of getting a BMW R1150RT next (I'll have to wait a few months so my checking account is ready) does anybody out there tried this bike?

Ride Safe. Ride Hard. Enjoy the Ride!

I haven't tried the R1150 but just wanted to tell you to be careful when riding it on the highway... people might think you are a cop :)

Nice bike, I would really love to own one just to cruise around the country with it, sun beating down on me and the music loud Smile

Wow, lucky guy, I tried one from the dealer back in '99 and the comfort is awesome on this , you can barely feel the road. I went riding for a couple of hours, pure pleasure.. Wink

I'm not really a fan of touring bikes, my passion are sports bikes so I will be subjective and honest on this matter and tell you that I have never ridden a touring bike but I do like the way yours looks. Take good care of it Smile

Some of the best bikes a man can ride are cruisers and touring bikes, for me crouching like you're about to sosge a bullet on a sports bike is not the way to ride
