Hi I am new to this site and need some advice. I just purchased a used 1994 Yahama 1100 Virago . I noticed that when I hit a bump the fornt fork bottoms out and I hear a thump. my question is How do you check the air pressure in the front fork. My bike has one bicycle port on the left hand side. I am to under stand that the fork air pressure is betwen 3 and 5 lbs. I tried to check my pressure today using an electronic tire gauge, I was not able to see a reading on the gauge, ( could this mean that the forks need air ). Can I use a standard bicycle pump to pump air in the forks?. Can i add fork oil easly? Also I have seem those cd bike manuals on Ebay are they as good as they say or do you prefer the standard book type. thanks for your help.
