Can anyone tell me how much fuel is left in the tank when you have to go on reserve?

By reserve, I am guessing you are talking about when the riders display shows the flashing gas pump (on a '09 connie)? If that is the case, from my experience I've driven over 30 miles with it flashing before pulling into a gas station...so...depending upon the mileage a person is getting, I'd guess a gallon is left. (my best mpg has been 42 (over 200 miles before refueling) and my worst has been 38 (when I drive over 80-130mph min/max), both on a tank run until the gas pump starts flashing on my display. Finally, I have NEVER put in 5.8 gallons on any fill up...so the reserve has to be at least a gallon by my estimation.

I have a 2000, so there is just a gage no light. The reason I was asking is the gage will show empty and I will fuel, but it will not take more than 4.5 gallons. The bike has a 7.3 gallon tank. So I was wondering if i let it go until I have to put it on reserve how much fuel is really left in the tank. I have never had a bike that the gage is off by so much.

This is a basic follow up on my first reply....since then, I have purposely ridden my 2009 connie until the reserve (flashing fuel pump) on the computer display came on and then driven immediately into a station to fill up. After filling up I took just over 4.8 gallons, which leaves 1 gallon on reserve (2009 total volume of the tank is 5.8 gallons). I don't know about previous year models, but on my computer display there are squares or blocks that represent a gallon of fuel each...they disappear as the fuel is used. I've found the fuel display to be right on the money with no error whatsoever.
