I feel as though I'm trying to do something that has never been done before! Although, I know it's been done by many people on many different bikes. I own a 2002 Dyna Lowrider that currently has stock handlebars. I have acquired 13.5" apes that I want to install. No one can tell me what length cables and brake line I need. Everyone I've asked about it has said the same thing... "rip it apart and mount your old cables and controls on the new bars and measure how much more cable is needed...i.e...+2, +4, +6 etc... " I think this is completely retarded, there has to be a database somewhere that says something along the lines of how long the cables and brake line should be for a certain size of handlebars on certain bikes. Anyone got a clue?

Why don't you measure the new bars and picture where they would go on the bike. Then get a piece of wire, follow the shapes of your current cables and measure the resulting needed wire length.

Just an idea I think would work...

Good luck!

David.

Greetings David,

Looks like that's what I'm gonna end up doin. I just don't completely trust my own measuring, that's all! I was really hoping to hear from someone who has a scoot like mine that has already done this that has the measurements or maybe someone who knows of a database or something. I guess when nothin else works, it's back to the basics, huh? Cool

Thanks for the reply!

Buzz
