Can anyone tell me how to prevent the deceleration backfiring of a 95 Yamaha Virago XV1100? I would be very grateful for any info you can give me. Thanks!

I think it's a problem of mixture , you're getting too much gas into the engine, try leaning out the mixture Wink. It might also be an ignition timing problem so check that out too

This happened on my old TR1 and bad ignition timing was the problem. Look at that first Wink

Any results or problems? Also low grade fuel may be the problem, try changing to higher octane Crazy

I disagree low quality fuel is the major cause of backfiring

this problem could be anything from to lean idle air mixture to dirty carbs ,tune - up , timing , but i have 97 doing the same i did the carbs ,change plugs runs alot better but still backfires . most common issue in my research is the air mixture valve . try these links to see how to disable the valve ,going to try this next time im off . this just polluation control basically so good luck ,wont hurt to try
